Christmas Tree x Two

The search was on.  On Friday, we bundled up, fought the wind and hunted for our 2009 Christmas tree.  But, we didn’t have enough cash.  $6.75 a foot was a bit more than we anticipated spending on a tree that would reach the ceiling.  So rather than driving away with a tree, we left with a free candy cane for Rydan and drove to the nearest ATM machine.  With more cash in our pockets, we decided to try a different tree farm than the first in hopes that the prices were more reasonable.  After miles upon miles of searching and not knowing where we were going, we were relieved when we finally found the place.  “Cut down any tree for $30.”  That was more like it.  Ryan grabbed a saw, and off we went into a maze of trees.  After what seemed like hours of strolling through trees that just didn’t measure up to our standards, we finally found the one.

The rest of the day was spent hauling decorations down from the attic, untangling lights, deciding on a color scheme, and listening to Rydan sing along with the Chipmunks’ rendition of “All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth.”  After putting the finishing touches on tree #1, we moved on to tree #2.  Though artificial, tree #2 sparkles and shines bright in the big window of our front room for cars to admire as they drive past our home.  Having two trees may seem unnecessary to some people, but for us, twice the trees equals twice the fun.  Below are a few photos of our tree adventures.

Tree Two is very sophisticated, just like Mr. Louie. Both look wonderful! Happy first married Christmas to you!
