Marshmallow Mondays

Back To Basics

Toys continue to advance in today’s world of super technology.  The days of Cabbage Patch Dolls and G.I Joes have transformed into Moxie Girlz and Bakugans.  From ipods to the latest game system, it becomes difficult to keep up with what’s “cool” to young children.  Buying Christmas gifts can quickly become complicated and tiresome.  “What if he already has it?”  “What if someone already bought it for her?”  These questions will drive a person crazy.

If toy stores overwhelm you, consider another avenue of gift giving.  Pick up some good books.  They don’t come with instructions or batteries, but they do come with hours of surprise, enjoyment and laughter.  Unlike technology, books are timeless.  It doesn’t take long to develop a favorite, and reading that favorite story time and time again will create a memory to last a lifetime.

If you recall a favorite childhood book, pick it up for the little one in your family.  Looking for ideas?  Check out “Books We Like” on the sidebar for a list of stories that Rydan and I have come to enjoy, time and time again.  If you’re looking for something truly unique, create a personalized children’s book at http://custommadeforkids.com.  These books are customized with your child’s favorite people and places.

This holiday season, give the gift of a book.  Nothing comes close to the satisfaction of watching a child learn to read.

Hey Bridgit! Love reading this website and catching up on what is going on with you and your family. Thanks for the idea about the custom book. I ordered one for Kamryn for Christmas and it is too cute. Can not wait to give it to her!

Love ya, Ashley
