Voting for the 2010 Children’s Choice Book Awards opens today.
The finalists were determined by close to 15,000 children and teens from around the U.S., who spent months reading and evaluating books submitted by publishers. Thousands more can now cast their vote for their favorite book, author, and illustrator at bookstores, school libraries, and at www.bookweekonline.com until May 2, 2010. For a complete listing of finalists, visit the Children’s Book Council.
The winner in each category will be named at a gala during Children’s Book Week on May 11th, 2010 in New York City as part of Children’s Book Week (May 10-16, 2010), the oldest national literacy event in the United States.
The Children’s Choice Book Awards is a great way to offer young readers an opportunity to voice their opinions about the books being created for them. Knowing that their opinion matters provides motivation for children to read more while cultivating a love for reading.
