This past weekend was our 2nd annual pumpkin carving party with “Lola,” Patrick, Uncle Brody, Uncle Bronson and Aunt Tori.  As the hosts this year, we turned our basement into a festive Halloween dungeon complete with purple lights, strands of bats and ghosts, and glowing skeletons.  We also prepared lots of Fall-inspired treats including a Halloween Cookie Pizza, Pumpkin Muffins, Apple Cider, Caramel Apples, Candy Corn, and lots of other goodies.  I think it’s safe to say we had more desserts than anything else, but of course no one was going to complain about that.  With a total of twelve pumpkins to carve, everyone worked up quite an appetite, which was a good thing with all of that food to eat.

Before we get into the carving, let me first back up to our search for the perfect pumpkins.  Two weeks ago we enjoyed a tractor ride out to the pumpkin patch at The Country Barn.  It was a beautiful Fall day.  After searching through hundreds of pumpkins, Rydan chose the biggest one he could find.  We also took home a few delicious treats from the Amish bakery, including red string licorice and whoopie pies.  In case you’re wondering, Lily was along for the ride too.  She snoozed the entire time.  If you look closely in the picture to the left, you’ll see her tiny hand hanging onto Mommy’s arm.

Now for the end results!  Check us out in action as well as some of the completed pumpkins.  Rydan of course wanted the “WWE” logo on his pumpkin, which you can see in the last photo.

For some extra fun, we bought some vampire gummy mouths for Rydan and Tori.  Check out the tongues on these two kiddos.

Thank you “Lola,” Patrick, Brody, Bronson and Tori for a fun time!
