Marshmallow Mondays

Mesmerized By YouTube

When she’s not eating, napping, jumping, or attached to my hip, Lily has been watching YouTube.  It’s true.  My 6-month-old daughter is obsessed with watching short animated video clips of various books on YouTube.  She will sit for 30-45 minutes in front of my laptop while watching the colorful animations and listening to the songs that go along with each video.  As her mother, I am not at all ashamed to admit her love for these singalongs because I actually love them too.  I don’t mind one bit that she’s learning about different animals, action, sounds and colors through these short singalongs.

Lily’s favorite by far is The Animal Boogie, which Ryan and I end up singing to her at least once a day because it soothes her when she’s upset and makes her giggle.  It teaches children about the different animals of the Indian Jungle as well as different types of simple action movements.  Check it out below.

Some other of Lily’s favorites are If You’re Happy & You Know It, Knick Knack Paddy Whack, and Driving My Tractor.  She isn’t a big fan of Portside Pirates, but this is Daddy’s favorite so it’s still worth mentioning.

All of these videos are animated versions of some of the titles and accompanying singalong CD’s that Barefoot Books has to offer.  To learn more about these books and to see a complete listing of all the books with singalong CD’s, just click here

If you’re interested in purchasing any of these books for the little reader in your life, simply email with your order.  These singalongs are only $9.99 with the CD.  Just for reading this post, you’ll automatically receive 15% off your entire order!
