Marshmallow Mondays

Horses, Art & Cows

We’ve had some fun summer days lately!

On Thursday, we visited The Red Mile, the second oldest harness race track in the United States, to watch the Junior League Charity Horse Show.  This horse show has grown to be the world’s largest outdoor American Saddlebred show, and the first leg of the Saddlebred “Triple Crown.”  The show attracts approximately 1,000 world recognized competitors from the U.S. and Canada and has raised over four million dollars for charitable and civic organizations in Central Kentucky.  As you can guess, Lily was in awe at all of the pretty horses.  And, we enjoyed the show with our neighborhood friends, which made it that much more fun.

On Friday, we spent some time painting in the afternoon.  Rydan and his friend Brady painted clay dinosaurs while Lily painted her own masterpiece.  Rydan decided to make his dinosaur a black belt, and Brady turned his dinosaur into a WWE champ.  Lily, on the other hand, was content dipping her brush into every color possible.

That evening, we enjoyed FREE dinner at Chick-Fil-A.  Why?  Because we dressed up like cows!  That’s right.  It was Dress Like A Cow, Get Free Chicken Day, and we took full advantage.

Rydan is always looking for an excuse to wear his old Halloween costumes, so he dressed as the "Joker Cow."

We hope all of our readers are enjoying summer time as much as we are!
