Horses and Taekwondo.  That was the birthday theme for Rydan and Lily this year.

Our little man turned 9 on July 30th, and our little lady will turn 3 on August 16th.  We celebrated both of them with a birthday party this past Saturday at our house.  Guests included neighborhood friends, Taekwondo friends, and school friends, which made for quite an energetic group of kids ready to have fun.  We set up our bounce house in the backyard, along with some other yard games, and simply let the kids go wild… and they did.

Here are some pictures that highlight Rydan and Lily’s birthday fun.

Later that day, we attended our neighborhood picnic, where the kids enjoyed kickball, ladder ball, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, and all sorts of other fun with all of our neighborhood friends.  The entire day was such an awesome reminder of how blessed we have been throughout the past year and a half.  In such a short period of time, we’ve built some really great friendships with some truly amazing people.  Knowing that we have friends who not only celebrate birthdays with us, but who genuinely care about us and have spent time making us feel more at home, means the world to us.
