Marshmallow Mondays

Photographs

We were long overdue for family pictures.  The last time we had pictures taken as a family, Lily was three months old.  We had only been living in our new house in Pennsylvania for a little over a year.  Rydan had just turned 6.

Now, here we are in Kentucky, with almost two years of wonderful memories.  Rydan and Lily both just celebrated birthdays.  It was time for some southern family pictures.  I wanted beautiful pictures that would really capture our life in Kentucky.  Pictures that weren’t so posed or in front of a lame pull down background.

That’s why I was so thankful to learn that my sweet friend, Carlee, was a professional photographer.  After seeing some of her work, it was a no brainer.  She HAD to take our photos.  So, last month we met her at Keeneland for some very “Kentucky” pictures.  Here are just a few of the results.  Needless to say, I am in love with every single one.

Last week, we decided to do a special shoot with just Lily.  It was a good old southern outdoor party, complete with Lily’s favorite tunes, her horse friends, donuts, and strawberry milk.  What more could a girl need?  She looked like such a little southern belle in her pretty white dress, pink boots, and braids.  Carlee managed to do it again by producing a-m-a-z-i-n-g melt-your-heart photos.  Again, these are just a few of the beautiful moments that she captured.

I truly can’t say enough about Carlee Jean Photography.  She is awesome with kids.  She’s super sweet and super fun.  She’s someone I really just enjoy being around because her energy and her love of life is not only genuine, it’s contagious.  She is up for anything when it comes to photo shoots, and magic truly happens when she gets behind the camera.  She understood exactly what I wanted, and she exceeded my expectations with the photographs she captured.  I’ve never loved our photos as much as I love the ones that Carlee took of my family, and I cannot wait to share them with our family and friends in Pennsylvania.  Thanks to Carlee, they get to see a glimpse into the happiness we have found in beautiful Kentucky.
